Elements Living Introduces an Exotic Combination for Interiors
A key look for luxury homes in the Far East is to offset the clean lines of contemporary solid wood furniture with extravagant wall coverings, to create an opulent, dramatic look. Elements Living, an ethical "teak boutique" in Manchester, is bringing this desirable design trend to the UK by combining ultra-modern, sleek wooden furniture with the world's most exclusive wall coverings, which include luxurious silks, sculptured velvets and exotic designs.

Elements Living is a leading stock list of the Ethnicraft range, which recently received the "Best Product" award by leading designer, Terence Conran, at the London Interiors show. The timeless styling and high quality craftsmanship of the reclaimed teak, oak and walnut pieces are equally at home in both modern and traditional settings. The firm decided to introduce the range to the Manchester area, as the clean lines of the furniture work particularly well against the exposed brick work and open plan design of urban loft apartments.

Says Anthony Ferguson, owner of Elements Living: "In the Far East, high-end European wall coverings are combined with a very natural range of furniture to achieve an exclusive look. We have brought the interior design ideas we came in across in the Far East, where brand is very important to the consumer, to the UK. We felt that there was room for something a bit different, where design, service and exclusivity are equally as important to price and quality."

Is Gardening the Gentle Art
Working at the top end of horticulture as a writer, publisher and international speaker, I have been hailed as an innovator. In the past 20 years, I have come into contact with people at all levels involved in commercial and professional horticulture.

I shot to fame by writing and compiling The Seed Search. In its third year of publication I became seriously ill. I received a phone call from a colleague who informed that my book was about to be taken and amalgamated into the Plant Finder. I was appalled and had to fight, through my illness, to retain my copyright. I won in the end. I also found out the RHS were using my book to give the information in it away for free through a phone-in helpline. Appalled, I made successful efforts to stop this too. Chris Philip who owned the copyright to the Plant Finder told me that he had received a six figure sum from the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) when they bought it from him. No such figure came my way; they just tried to walk all over me.

Another of my books suffered when the RHS started using its title for one of their books. So I changed the name of my title to the detriment of sales as people knew it by the other name. This was 'Growing From Seed', which I decided to change to 'Seed Sowing & Growing Success' to avoid confusion even though I had prior use.

When the PR went out to in 2006 to announce my last printed book, published February 2007, 'Lifestyle Gardening', I received a request from the RHS asking exactly what was in my book - they needed the contents page. Foolishly I produced this, only to find that later they produced similar content in a book of their own.

Just recently, I bought tickets for the Hampton Court Flower Show. The RHS ticketing agent misled me. I requested a refund, but the RHS refuse to make a refund. I am left one thousand pounds out of pocket. I was told by Director General, Inga Grimsey that "...a refund is too much to ask of a charity." They made an error; they should be willing to put it right.

You might be thinking that gardening is the gentle art and not a cut-throat business.
Karen told us "You can forgive someone one transgression, but this is too much. The RHS are knowledgeable about copyright, so they know what they are doing wrong. They are always so reluctant to put things right. "

Does such an honorable society believe this is how to treat an individual? My work is recognized and praised by just about everyone. I have followers all over the world. I have had a huge influence on the RHS shows with designers and BBC coverage recognizing my championing of all plants black. Without my research of 20 years, black plants would not be where they are today. They do not have to recognize my work, but can't they keep their hands off it? I personally know at least two people who have also suffered at their hands. With royal patronage, should they not be above all this? I am not about to be fazed and wiped out by this organization, who should learn a little courtesy. Whilst gardening is undoubtedly an art in which it is good to share, some things are not to be taken by an organization for its own purposes and gain.

Together you can walk in the steps of Claude Monet and reawakening many of his passions. Monet created his home and Gardens in Giverny as an oasis for all the wonderful things life has to offer. He chose Normandy, where he was born to settle and create his special world. As he dined on the wonderful Camembert cheese of Normandy and sipped his favorite champagne or Calvados, when the right light effect was present, nothing would stop him from running to his canvases and capturing the effect. That is what Impressionism is all about, the light effect. Monet's Palate and www.monetspalate.com will support Organization Claude Monet in helping to bring awareness of this wonderful and important organization that celebrates everything about the father of Impressionism Claude Monet.

Membership to Organization Claude Monet is free. For the very first time those who love Claude Monet will have a place to interact, and share art, cooking, travelling and gardening tips at the message center. In addition donations can be given directly to the Musée d'Art Américain, Giverny, 99 rue Claude Monet, Giverny, France can be given directly to this wonderful museum at their website which is www.maag.org. The museum is devoted to the art and artists that walked in the steps of Monet. When Claude Monet moved to Giverny in 1883, many American and European artists settled down in the village until World War I and formed an important colony of impressionist painters. This colony of artists developed itself around painters like Theodore Robinson, Lilla Cabot Perry, Frederick MacMonnies, Frederick Carl Frieseke, etc. ClaudeMonet.org and MonetsPalate.com are proud to help the tradition Claude Monet started in his small town in Normandy, Giverny, France. - Aileen Bordman is the President of Organization Claude Monet.
